November 5th, 1:00 PM
On November 5, Santa Monicans for Renters’ Rights will hold its Annual Membership Convention at Grant Elementary School starting at 1:00 p.m. in the cafetorium. At this meeting we will elect a Steering Committee to guide SMRR for the next two years.
You must be present to vote, and your 2023 dues must be paid. Dues are $35 per calendar year, $15 for hardship. New SMRR members who joined this year prior to August 7, 2023 are eligible to vote.
To be eligible to vote at this meeting, members from 2022 who still owe 2023 dues may renew by donating with a credit card online at www.smrr.org/donate by November 2, or by mailing a check in time to be received by October 29, to 2118 Wilshire Blvd., #832, Santa Monica, CA 90403 to vote at this meeting. Renewing online, or by mail ASAP, is encouraged as this will facilitate the check-in procedure.
If you are a member in good standing and would like to run for a Steering Committee seat, please send an email to [email protected] for nomination papers and more information.
The rules are simple. You must be a resident of Santa Monica, have paid your 2023 dues, and have been a member of SMRR for at least two years. You will need supporting signatures of 10 current SMRR members on an official nominating petition, which must be returned to 2118 Wilshire Blvd., #832 Santa Monica, CA 90403 no later than 5 PM on October 29.
SMRR relies on members like you to join with us in support of renters’ rights, affordable housing, strong environmental policies, and smart but not excessive growth. With your help we can protect and enhance our vibrant, diverse community’s future.
